FINAL UPDATE before we CLOSE – NEXT WEEK

Hey sorry it’s been so long! Busy busy busy with the new job and other things going in our life.

We did the final walk-through of the new home yesterday, and we close early next week.

We hope to be moved in by the end of next week, fingers crossed!!

Here’s some pictures of the inside/outside!

This was taken early-March so front was still unfinished.
Inside 3-car garage. This is one of the main reasons we started this build!
Looking back out to patio from the living room area. Kitchen would be just left of you.
This is in the kitchen area, early March before it was finished. (No proper vent over the stove just yet)
This is outside in the backyard. Pond would be to your immediate left.
Backyard looking back towards the house from pond.
This is the finished beautiful kitchen area. Another reason we did this particular build.
Upstairs in the loft. Looking out from where I (byron) will be sitting soon, whenever I’m not downstairs in the office. There will be a lot of different recreational things going up here. Games, maybe arcade stuff eventually who knows? This particular space is open and massive.
View of the back patio, or as my work teammate calls it, “his new room”.

That’s all for pictures and updates for now. We start moving in early next week just as soon as we close and get the keys!

FINALLY – we’re gonna actually MOVE INTO the house we BUILT.

Just took like… what… .almost 4-5 years to get to this point?

Thanks for riding along with us.

Cheers!

More-recent pictures available

Just as soon as I posted that last one, I got ahold of the newest pictures from the new home.

Here they are – mainly just shots of the cabinets, the kitchen, the new driveway.

We found a small air hockey setup that some one was selling used, so we picked this up for the upstairs loft!

But hey – reality is starting to set in. House is coming soon! Time to schedule time off from work. Time to paint. Time to unpack three big storage units into a moving truck. Time to hire help!!! It won’t be long….

Stay tuned.

So much progress, so little time to talk about it.

Our house is almost finished! We have a closing date in late March.

It has walls, cabinets in it…. and it will probably have all the doors and locks in place by this weekend.

Sorry I haven’t been posting. I started a new job in January and I have been very busy in general.

Here are some photos:

This is an old shot from late January of the back to give you an idea of how the large roof looks.

And honestly…these photos are already a week old. The house is really progressing along.

My wife has already shown me that tile is completely down in the house on all floors, carpet is likely going in next.

Cabinets are in and already all over the place. The DRIVEWAY has been poured and already set, so it’s all really going to be looking finished soon!

It’s probably going to be locked from further entry sometime later this weekend or maybe next week. We’re going to miss getting to check out all the nice things going on inside!!!!

*IF I HAVE TIME* I will try to post again with some of the newest pictures. Sorry it took this long to update.

Thanks and stay tuned!

Made it past a first inspection. Two months to go… or so..

Open frame inspection took place today. Some red marks did come up, so we’re going to have to get the builder to answer to some of them.

Once we’re “good” to consider the framing process cleared and behind us, drywall, painting and the other accessories can start going up and in.

Otherwise, the house is really coming along now. I expect we’ll be talking about setting up a closing date within the next 30-45 days. Obviously, we’re super stoked about that.

As seen on the home inspection report, a view from the front of the lot.

Stay tuned.

New year, so here’s some new photos of the new house

There is a lot of progress to show from the past month of construction.

Let’s get started…

As you drive into the community, its a great thing to see our house finally stacking up against the rest. Here’s a closer zoom…

Driving around, here’s the front of the home.

I took a lot of VIDEOS inside the property. Here’s a YouTube video below..

(Warning, its long and runs for like 20 minutes…)

In case you didn’t have time to watch (or just didn’t want to) — I didn’t take many other pics on this particular trip. Inside the house, the photos of random wood and trusses just really don’t do us any good. But rest assured, the house is really coming along strong and quick-like at this point.

Meanwhile.. We have an open-frame inspection next week. Electricity wiring and A/C duct work are already in, but the drywall can really start going up once we have and pass through the inspection.

Stick around. 2021’s gonna be fun.

I’m not kidding. The photos I just posted are already too old.

We’ve already been back, and seen there’s a second story frame and floor built, and most of the bottom story walls are “up” and in place.

It’s really not going to be much longer before this house should have a roof, white walls and paint on the thing!

Here’s a very CLOSE example of what our house SHOULD look like come March 2021, when its finished….

Sorry I wasn’t able to capture any other (real) pictures. But Darcy did. I’ll see if I can get some and place here.

Its beginning to look a lot.. like.. a house.

We visited second week into December and managed to catch a lot more signs of progress!

Given its the 17th as I post these, they’re already more than a week old.

Anxious to get over there and see the latest progress, but here’s the latest we have.

This is from entrance looking towards the back of the house at patio. Living area and Kitchen (left and right)
This is the entry/family room area where the dinner table will also be. Remember that bar from the previous house? It’ll be back. Likely along that wall behind Darcy.
Another view from the front/family room area towards the other direction.
Kitchen will be in the far back, this view is one of the two entry ways into the first floor bedroom hallway area.
This will eventually be Dad’s office. Closing my eyes, counting to 10, etc. etc. The other side of the wall is our garage. 3 cars wide.
And finally, since it was a good time for it, I was able to capture this preview of what the daily sunsets might look like from our new backyard patio.

Stay tuned.

More Progress! Better Photos!

As of my last drive-by, I could see blocks loaded onto the slab, which was a good sign!

Then, Darcy went by the house this past week and saw a lot more getting done!

They’ve laid the bricks on the foundation, you can start to see what the walls, entrance, garage and window slots are going to look like on the first level. Finally – Progress!

And this was only just as of this past Tuesday. Possibly more work being done this week. It’s been cold (at least for Florida) but not much in the way of rain or other weather deterrents. So we hope to see more progress underway!

Land is cleared, some activity is happening… (ZzZzz..)

“Look, some dirt moved!!”

It’s our second attempt at building a house.

So naturally, we’re more anxious this time, to see some activity and see it getting finished, but finished correctly… (OCD is in full swing)

The SOLD signs are all over the place next to us, everything is spoken for, etc. Lots are clearing and bricks are stacking up.

As for our lot, it just started moving about two weeks ago, and all we really have to show for it right now are the wood and stakes for the eventual build. We’re still on track for a March 2020-ish™ closing at this point, keep your fingers crossed for us please.

Here’s some pictures.
